Phaidon and Sotheby’s celebrate the publication of Peter Marino’s latest book Ten Modern Houses

Artists Genesis Tramaine and Nicole Wittenberg, collectors Carol Saper and Georgina Brandolini d’Adda, and writer Bob Colacello are among guests at the New York event.

Phaidon and Sotheby’s celebrated the publication of Peter Marino’s latest book Ten Modern Houses in New York last week.

Guests at the Upper East Side launch included the artists Genesis Tramaine and Nicole Wittenberg, collectors Carol Saper and Georgina Brandolini d’Adda, writer Bob Colacello, and new Sotheby's Head of Media Kristina O'Neil.

Sothebys co-worldwide head of 20th Century Design Jodi Pollack welcomed guests to the event, at which Phaidon CEO Keith Fox toasted Peter Marino. Guests enjoyed burrata in pesto and steak tartare bites throughout the evening.

Peter Marino was present at the event, and signed copies of his new book in which the internationally acclaimed architect shares a look inside his private, residential projects.

In contrast to the architecture and design for his luxury commercial clients – including Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Tiffany & Co. – the residences featured are ones where Marino was allowed almost unlimited creative freedom in both the architectural planning and interior design.

The luxury signed edition of Ten Modern Houses was also on view at the event. This edition is bound in black leatherette and accompanied by a black, piano-lacquered X bookstand.

Take a look through the photos from the event below and at the Peter Marino book Ten Modern Houses here and the limited edition signed version of Ten Modern Houses here.

Through ten chapters (nine completed residences and a tenth chapter of in-progress houses) with more than 200 images, the book provides a behind-the-scenes look into Marino’s remarkable range of work across the globe with residences in: Southampton and Sagaponack, New York; Aspen, Colorado; Miami, Florida; Summerlin, Nevada; Malibu, California; Faqra, Lebanon; the Dominican Republic; Ramatuelle and St. Barts, France; Grace Bay, Turks and Caicos; and Skorpios, Greece.

The book is prefaced by Marino himself, has an introduction by Pilar Viladas, and profiles of each residence by architecture writer Sam Lubell.
