Tomorrow, Thursday 2 March, is World Book Day in the UK and Ireland, when school children dress up as their favourite book character and adults encourage a love of printed matter.
And if there’s one book guaranteed to do this, it’s Hug This Book! Created by the brilliant US author Barney Saltzberg and the equally talented French illustrator Fred Benaglia, the book takes young readers on a wild, Dr Seuss-style ride, from the bathtub to the city, via hot air balloons, hippos and more, all in the name of book love.
The rhyming text and whimsical artwork will bring out a love of books in even the most screen-bound of children, and remind adults what they first loved about reading.
