Where to see Generation Wealth this summer
Lauren Greenfield's award-winning, definitive statement on the influence of affluence is at a cinema near you
When the photographer and documentary maker Lauren Greenfield began to shoot the images published in Generation Wealth, she began to witness the all-encompassing love of money within a small group of her peer group living in the wealthier districts of Los Angeles. But as she began to explore the influence of affluence she became aware that this new social phenomenon crossed class divides and continents, from Dubai, to China, Russia and beyond.
Now the big screen version of her Generation Wealth book follows in her footsteps, with an international, theatrical release later this month. The 106 minute movie – developed by Amazon Studios – receives its official, theatrical release in the US, the UK, Ireland and Canada on 20 July. There are also a few pre-screenings on 17, 18 and 19 July, in London, Brighton, Liverpool, Oxford and Cambridge.
A number of these earlier screenings will also show a pre-recorded Q&A with Greenfield, chaired by the British film critic Kate Muir. You can check out all the screening dates here; and for a deeper dive into this brilliant documentary project order a copy of Generation Wealth by Lauren Greenfield here.
